Thank you for considering a gift to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula. Below are a number of examples of how your support can make a difference. Our priorities for this year are to maintain our current programs upon which so many children and families depend.

The club has evolved greatly since 2000. We have grown from 3 sites to 7 sites and almost tripled the number of youth served. We built a new clubhouse in East Palo Alto and rebuilt the clubhouse in Menlo Park. We enhanced our Center for a New Generation program and now run it at 4 school sites. To make this possible, our operating budget has grown from $3 million to almost $5 million.

Looking forward, many needs remain unmet. The teens need a Teen Center that will help them graduate from high school with a plan for a productive future. Students attending schools far from our clubhouses would benefit from having a Center for a New Generation at their school. In time, we aspire to meet these needs.

In 2008 the club will celebrate its 50 th anniversary. We will use this occasion to increase awareness of the club in the community. We will strengthen and broaden our base of financial support so our youth can continue to benefit from our programs.

bridges the gap between public and other funding and the actual cost of serving 25 children for a full year.

ensures that 300 children can receive mentoring and be recognized for their academic achievement and leadership through the club's Achievement Matters program.

$10,000

covers the cost of providing 120 children with engaging enrichment activities such as art, music and dance for a year

$5,000

covers the cost providing 2 teens will full-time employment at the club for the summer

$2,500

ensures that 4 children can participate in the club's Center for a New Generation Summer program

$1,000

bridges the gap between public and other funding and the actual cost of serving 1 child for a full year

covers the club's annual membership fee for 6 children whose families cannot afford it

will provide club sports league uniforms for 3 children

covers the cost of art supplies for a club class for one week
