Give your Gift through your IRA - Must be processed by December 31, 2010
Good news! Charitable IRA Legislation has been extended through 2010. For individuals 70½ or older with individual retirement accounts! The President has signed into law a one-year extension of the IRA Rollover provision which will be made retroactive to Jan. 1, 2010, and will apply to gifts made from that date through Dec. 31, 2010.

The provision exempts from taxable income any funds transferred ("rolled over") from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a charitable organization. The following limitations apply:

  • The donor must be age 70½ or older.
  • The cap on annual IRA rollovers is $100,000.
  • The contribution must be direct gift to a charity.

As always, please consult with a qualified legal and/or accounting professional when making financial decisions. For further information, please contact the Club's Development Office at (650) 646-6126 or Melissa Hawk by email at mhawk@bgcp.org.

Many companies and governmental agencies have programs that enable their employees to make donations through payroll deductions. If you would like to support the work the Club through your workplace giving program, please look for "Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula" in your workplace giving campaign brochure. Note the corresponding designation code number, and fill it in on your pledge card.
