VOLUNTEERING... It's a way of giving and receiving

Thank you for your interest in learning more about contributing your time, talent and energy to the youth of this community. Every day people just like you break away from their daily routines to spend time with youth. Your volunteer service is highly valued. The experience, skills and enthusiasm you bring will add a valuable dimension to this organization. Your efforts will bring enrichment to the lives of our youth and empower them to become positive role models and leaders in their communities. Volunteers can get involved in three different aspects: Workshops and Projects, Special Events or Ongoing Opportunities.

VOLUNTEER
VOICES

"I will always remember how gratefull the kids are for the help and time of volunteers." -Coach Jeff Hurst

"The relationships the kids build with staff and volunteers are astounding. You have to experience it for yourself to understand how powerful it truly is and what a difference it makes in the lives of the kids AND the volunteers." - Jenny Parker, Reading Wizards

"Anytime you can do something that positively effects the lives of others you take away the personal gratification that maybe you are doing something right, and that at least these few hours a week with the kids really did make a difference." - Benjamin Addicott, Tutor

OPPORTUNITIES

Whether you are an individual, group or corporation we have a volunteer opportunity that is right for you! Our volunteers can participate in Special Events, Ongoing Opportunities, Projects & Workshops. How do you want to spend your time at the clubs?

Individual volunteers can find ongoing opportunities in every corner of our clubhouses and school sites. Ongoing Opportunities are available in every department ranging from: Academics, Athletics, Science and Technology, Teen Center, Visual and Peforming Arts, Social Education and our Center for New Generation program. To learn more in detail about our individual ongoing opportunities please click on Opportunities contact the Director of Volunteer Services, Paitra Sharp at psharp@bgcp.org.

Corporations and civic groups throughout the Peninsula contribute services, in-kind gifts and the time of their employees and members. Opportunities to create projects that meet your needs and interests are boundless- such as one-day special events, renovation projects, workshops, hosting a field tour or ongoing mentoring programs. To learn more about group volunteer projects contact the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Zareen Kasad at zareen@bgcp.org.

Please consider joining our stellar team. You'd be amazed how just one hour a week can truly make the difference in a child's life. Spend that one hour sharing your life experiences, tutoring or assisting with homework, coaching a sports team, or teaching a life skills class like cooking, computers, creative writing, etc.
