Interested in earning an associates degree? Interested in becoming a teacher? Join BGCP staff and have the opportunity to earn an AA and teaching credential for free!

As part of our Teacher Pathway Program, in partnership with Canada College & Oxford Teachers Academy, BGCP staff will have the opportunity to earn units at Cañada College towards an AA degree as they continue to work. All part time and full time staff are eligible. Students will meet regularly and take a prescribed set of courses that will enable them to transfer into a BA program and eventually a teaching credential program.

The courses

Starting in Fall 2019, you will take two Cañada College classes focused on Child Development and Education:

  1. EDUC 200: Introduction to Classroom Teaching (3 units) – Mondays 7-10pm* (CRN: 95686)
    Class meets online and in-person. In-person classes meet on: 8/26, 9/9, 9/30, 10/21, 11/4, 12/9.

  2. Optional add-on, ECE 212: Child, Family and Community (3 units) – select Saturdays and online (CRN: 87252)

    *Pathway participants are required to enroll in EDUC 200 and have the option of adding 3 to 12 additional units per semester.
