Last week the graduating seniors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula were honored at BGCP's first annual College Launch celebration on Facebook's Menlo Park Campus. Students, families, staff, volunteers, and community leaders celebrated the accomplishments of these graduates, many of whom will become first-generation college students this fall.
19 of this year's graduates participated in BGCP's College Bound program, receiving intensive mentoring and support throughout the college application process. Watch the video below to learn which colleges they will be attending in the fall, and to hear more about College Bound.
We are so proud of our graduates and know they will continue to serve as great role models for our younger members as they pursue post-secondary education. We wish them the best of luck in all of their future endeavors. Congratulations Class of 2016!
Thank you to all of our inspiring guest speakers at the night's event: Menlo Park Mayor Rich Cline, East Palo Alto Councilmember Lisa Yarbrough-Gauthier, and Redwood City Councilmember and former Mayor Alicia Aguirre. Another big thanks to our hosts at Facebook and our Keynote Speaker, BGCP alumnus Lalo Saavedra.
Good luck to all of our graduates and thank you to all members of our BGCP family!
