Lifetime Cardinal Community Fund – a non-profit that leverages college athletics rules on Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) funds to benefit Stanford University student-athletes and the communities where they live, work, and play – is partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP).

Through this partnership, Lifetime Cardinal will offer support to BGCP’s Future Grads program. In addition, Lifetime Cardinal will provide scholarships to BGCP students for use at their choice of post-secondary educational institutions.

Since 2015, Future Grads has helped hundreds of high school students in underserved communities throughout San Mateo County advance their post-secondary education pursuits by providing free mentorship in academics, life skills, and navigating the college application process, as well as mental health services and social supports that extend from their high school years, to and through college and into their careers.

“Lifetime Cardinal Community Fund understands the importance of closing the opportunity gap that exists in San Mateo County,” said BGCP’s CEO, Jenny Obiaya. “We greatly appreciate Lifetime Cardinal’s support both of our Future Grads program and the scholarships they will offer to five additional students. We also are inspired by the commitment to community from Lifetime Cardinal and the Stanford student-athletes.”

Through this partnership, BGCP students will also benefit from free tickets to Stanford sports events and other unique opportunities while Stanford student-athletes will be able to give back to the community through volunteering.

“Lifetime Cardinal Community Fund is proud to help create more academic opportunities for Bay Area students through new scholarship support to BGCP students,” said Chip Hall, Lifetime Cardinal's Executive Director. “Our organization's key focus is to strengthen our local community through educational grants as well as student-athlete promotion and participation with non-profit partners. Our partnership with BGCP is critical to those community building efforts.”
