BGCP has a variety of volunteer opportunities available to support our students and their families. Children are welcome to volunteer at many of these activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Senior Director of Community Engagement Emily Mungul.
Volunteer with Programs
Are you interested in working alongside our incredible staff to help run fun, engaging and impactful programming? Can you commit even a few hours a week? We’re looking for volunteers to work with our students in the following areas:

BGCP delivers high quality programming at all of our schools/clubhouse sites across San Mateo County. Volunteer opportunities are available at all our clubhouses and K-8 sites.

After applying, you will be asked to complete our compliance process. Per BGCP, BGCA, and the state of California, volunteers must complete yearly compliance requirements to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
Adult (18 & older) requirements: Two background checks (LiveScan and Checkr), a TB Risk Assessment, 3 trainings (Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, & Foundations), a reference check, and a volunteer form.
Minor (17 & under) requirements: One background check (Checkr), a reference check, and a volunteer form.
Volunteer team will connect with each volunteer to support you in selecting a site and schedule.

Important!
To intern or volunteer with us, for ages 14 or older, you must have a Social Security Number (SSN) and be able to complete a background check. These requirements help us ensure a safe and welcoming space for our youth.
Group and Corporate Volunteering
Looking for fun, team-bonding, in-person way to serve the community together as a team? Consider signing your group up for a Volunteer Takeover, where your company, team, or group reserves an afternoon of volunteering for our Grocery Distribution, career exploration opportunities or a special, on-site event with students.

Grocery Distribution takes place on certain days each month from 4:15-7:00 P.M.
Group or corporate events can be tailored to your company needs.
High school Summer internship
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula offers a high school summer internship for motivated teens to participate in summer programs across East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Mateo, Daly City, and South San Francisco. This internship opportunity is open to students entering 9th grade through graduating high school seniors. All interns will gain hands-on youth development experience alongside BGCP staff.
This summer we have 180 interns across all sites. Let us know if you are interested in participating next summer.
